Developing Full Potential through Play & Learning

COVIDSafe Plan

Updated 5th January 2022

Please see below for Play Learn Bloom's COVIDSafe Plan so that you can make informed decisions for the well-being of your family.

Attendance:

Please do not attend sessions if you or your child is unwell. We require you to cancel your appointment if:

1. If you or your children have fever, cough, runny nose, sore throat or flu-like symptoms.

2. If you or your child have been in close contact with a confirmed or suspected COVID-19 case or

3. If you, your child or close family member is in quarantine after returning from inter-state hot spots or overseas,

4. If you or your child have been advised by Qld Health to quarantine as part of their contact tracing.

Play Learn Bloom will also cancel clinic sessions if staff become unwell or if someone in their immediate family does.

If you are concerned, I understand your need to self-isolate, please just let me know with as much notice as possible. Telehealth sessions may be able to be offered if clinically appropriate.

No child will be denied access to Play Learn Bloom based on their parent's vaccination status. However, if a parent is unvaccinated, only one parent per child is allowed to attend, and they should wear a face mask (as per Qld Gov recommendations).

Mask wearing:

Staff will wear face masks and other PPE depending on the level of local transmission in the area and their level of risk.

Parents and children over 12 are required to wear a mask in the clinic, and preferably when being provided home visiting services.

Adherence to social distancing:

2 square metres per person indoors: Our treatment room is more than 16sqm, allowing for at least 4 people to be in the clinic room at one time. This allows us to cater for a child, their parent and the therapist and one sibling without concern for the social distancing rule.

Social distancing will be maintained between adults within the clinic. We will maintain social distancing with the children as often as appropriate, however as we know children do not always understand this, and at times manual handling may be required in sessions. If lots of assistance is required, the parents may be asked to assist the child.

We will be use minimal High-Fives, handshakes and hugs as greetings or encouragement

Client sessions will also be spaced by 15 minutes to allow for minimal contact between clients and to allow for adequate cleaning.

Infection Control & Cleaning:

Please know that your health and safety is our highest priority. However, please acknowledge there is a risk in attending a clinic that multiple people visit. As we continue to uphold our high clinical and sanitation standards by following our infection control policy, know that we engage in the following practices at Play Learn Bloom:

  • Completion of the Australia Government Dept of Health Infection Control Training - COVID 19

  • Disinfecting and wiping down surfaces between appointments as necessary

  • Cleaning equipment and toys after use as necessary

  • Providing hand sanitizer and handwashing with soap and water on entry

  • Therapists will engage in increased handwashing/santizing before, during and after session.

  • PPE & masks are worn as directed by Public Health Orders and Qld Health recommendations.

Reporting:
We are committed to supporting public health authorities so if we have confirmed cases in our premises, we will be alerting public health authorities and taking responsible steps.

Client attendance records are kept as part of the clinics standard documentation procedure, those who attend with the child will be documented in the electronic record along with their attendance. This is kept on a secure elecronic database as outlined in our privacy statement. No client health details will be released, however contact details may need to be released in the event of contact tracing.

If you have any concerns, would like something wiped down, or would like to discuss how we are proactively dealing with the outbreak please just ask. Your health and well-being is our main priority.
